High altitude cooking is the opposite of pressure cooking in that the boiling point of water will be lower at higher altitudes due to the decreased air pressure. This lower temperature results in a lowered boiling point of water and may require an increase in cooking times or temperature and alterations of recipe ingredients. For home cooking, this effect becomes relevant at altitudes above approximately 2000 feet (600 meters). At that altitude, water boils at approximately 208oF (98oC) and adjustments sometimes need to be made to compensate for the reduced air pressure/water boiling point.

Boiling
This method of cooking at high altitude can be compensated for by increasing cooking times.
Baking
Breads and cakes will usually require additional adjustments such as increased dry ingredients and higher oven temperature at elevations above approximately 3500 feet (1000 meters).
Methods used at high altitudes
From pressure cooking: A pressure cooker is often used by mountain climbers to compensate for the low atmospheric pressure at a very high altitude. Under these circumstances water boils at temperatures significantly below 100 and without the use of a pressure cooker, may leave boiled foods undercooked, as described in Charles Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle:
At the place where we slept water necessarily boiled, from the diminished pressure of the atmosphere, at a lower temperature than it does in a less lofty country; the case being the converse of that of a Papin's digester. Hence the potatoes, after remaining for some hours in the boiling water, were nearly as hard as ever. The pot was left on the fire all night, and next morning it was boiled again, but yet the potatoes were not cooked. I found out this, by overhearing my two companions discussing the cause, they had come to the simple conclusion, "that the cursed pot [which was a new one] did not choose to boil potatoes."

Herb grinder
I want to introduct something about Portable Pig Mini Sound Box for Mp3/Mp4/Ipod(PS-113).
Portable Pig Mini Sound Box for Mp3/Mp4/Ipod Product size: 10x11x8.5cm 1)It can be linked to a computer, Mp3, Mp4, Mobile Phone. 2)USB line to supply power, 3.5mm plugs insert audio output interface 3)Have Fm scan ridio function 4)Speaker: 2 Ohms x 2; 1W x2 5) Frequency response: 80Hz- 20 K Hz
A grinder containing a small amount of herbs
The fine screen of a Space Case which will hold the larger pieces of herb. The bottom compartment is visible which is where the pollen will be collected.
A herb grinder (also called a "spice grinder", or just a "grinder") is a cylindrical contraption with two halves (top and bottom) that separate and have sharp teeth or pegs aligned in such a way that when both halves are turned, material placed inside is effectively shredded.
Some grinders also have two or three compartments instead of just one, with a fine screen separating the bottom compartment from the top. This allows fine particles such as pollen to pass through, but blocks larger plant material.
Grinders called "four-stages" are also popular. "Four-stages" are similar to regular grinders, but include a second fine screen to further separate "pollen" or other tiny plant matter.
There are also 5 stages grinders by many manufacturers now, and most are using an anodized process to coat the raw material they are made from.
Herb grinders are manufactured with the intent as culinary kitchen tools often used to prepare spices and cooking herbs for culinary preparation. It is also used to prepare tobacco, traditional herbs and Cannabis for smoking. A pollen-catching grinder will collect a more potent form of the medicinal plant known as kief, or pollen from traditional plants and herbs.
And Rickys top tip is: Don't Tap it together!

Norsk Hydro industry park on Her?ya
Her?ya is a peninsula in the municipality of Porsgrunn. It is located between the fjords of Frierfjord to the west and Gunneklevfjord to the east, at the mouth of Telemarksvassdraget, The name stems from the word hare because the large number of these that is said to have inhabited the previous island (?ya).
The peninsula features a large industrial park that was founded in 1928 and contains major facilities of Norsk Hydro, Yara, and REC (ScanWafer subsidiary). The area is served by the railway line Bratsbergbanen. 2,700 people work on the 1.5 km2 peninsula that has about 30 companies, most of which are subsidiaries of Norsk Hydro, including Hydro's research park with 350 employees. A populated area south of the peninsula itself which was initially housing for the Hydro employees, is also considered part of Her?ya as a suburb of the city of Porsgrunn.
Her?ya also has a local football club, participating in the Norwegian 6th division. The club stadium, Her?ya Stadion, has a capacity in surplus of 2000.

History
Originally an island that was used for agriculture, in 1928 Norsk Hydro decided to locate a new artificial fertilizer factory there, Hydro Porsgrunn, and in just 16 months both this factory and a shipping port for Norwegian saltpeter (calcium nitrate) were built. In the process, the narrow sound between the island and the mainland was mostly filled up, thus transforming the island to a peninsula. The reason Hydro wanted to establish itself in the Grenland region was the proximity to limestone, one of the necessary components in the fertilizer, Calcium nitrate. Norsk Hydro had previously had to build its fertilizer plants in Notodden (in 1907) and Rjukan (in 1909) because technology at that time didn't allow for efficient transport of electricity long distances from the power plants to the place of use. But in the 1920s technology had developed and it was possible to locate the plants close to the natural resources instad of close to the hydro electric power plants, that were located in the mountains in Northern Telemark.
Another important function was the establishment of a port for the export of fertilizer from Norsk Hydro's plants in Telemark. The Telemark Canal had been used for transport from Notodden from the start of operations there, while a railway, Rjukanbanen, had been built to the plant in Rjukan to Notodden. In 1916 this railway was extended as Bratsbergbanen to Skien, and then to Her?ya when it opened, replacing the need for the canal. Since then there has been opened other plants at Her?ya, including a production plant for PVC (in 1951).
Following the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany in April 1940 the German occupying force had plans to build Aluminium and Magnesium plants in Her?ya. The construction of the plant by Norsk Hydro in partnership with the Luftwaffe-operated Nordische Aluminium Aktiengesellschaft (Nordag) was however ended on July 24, 1943 when a bombardment by American B-17 Flying Fortresses completely destroyed the facilities, killing 55 construction workers. Later, in the fifties, Hydro would take up these plans and build a magnesium factory, which was rebuilt in 2002 to a metal recycling facility.
Post-WWII Her?ya
In the reminiscing book UT. Fra en oppvekst i forrige ?rhundre by historian Harald Berntsen, portrayals are given of incidents and milieus in Her?ya, from the time when his family moved there in 1951 (from downtown Porsgrunn), just before he was to begin school, and until 1960. The book explains among other things the way in which the different residential areas in Her?ya were related to status and hierarchy in the Hydro community. Berntsen's family lived in a flat on Torggata, on the peninsula proper, to the west of the Gunneklevfjord, in a recently built 4-flat house which the father had been given by Hydro.
Torggata
"On both sides of Torggata up on the right, one 'owned home' after the other, within well-groomed gardens fenced in with chain link fences and gates ... In front of the residence and down on the left, Torggata has recently been elevated and graveled, but not yet asphalted. On the other side of the street, the Germans have left a long two-storey barrack ... On both sides of Torggata down on the left, endless open yards with grass and weeds, thistles and nettles. The yards end in a fertile belt of tall, wavering rushes with a forest of brown cigars on the top, in front of the enclosed Gunneklevfjord, glittering in the sun in all hues of pollution. On the left side of the fjord Hydro's factory buildings tower proudly, in particular the tallest round tower which day and night pumps out the thick, yellow smoke which always gives the wind strength and...(and so on)

The Women's Trade Union League (WTUL) was a U.S. organization of both working class and more well-off women formed in 1903 to support the efforts of women to organize labor unions and to eliminate sweatshop conditions. The WTUL played an important role in supporting the massive strikes in the first two decades of the twentieth century that established the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and in campaigning for women's suffrage among men and women workers.

Origins
WTUL float, Labor Day parade, New York, 1908.
The roots of the WTUL come from a British organization of the same name founded thirty years prior. The British League had originally supported the creation of a separate women labor movement but, by the 1890s, merged its own aims with the mainstream British labor movement and functioned as an umbrella organization of women trade unions. Its first American supporter was the socialist William English Walling who met with British WTUL leaders in 1902. He returned to the United States and began to generate support for a similar American organization
Organized in 1903 at the American Federation of Labor convention, the WTUL spent much of its early years trying to cultivate ties with the AFL leadership. By 1907, the WTUL saw its purpose as supporting the AFL and encouraging women membership in the organization. In its constitution that year, the WTUL defined its purpose in assisting n organizing women into trade unionsuch unions to be affiliated, where practicable, with the American Federation of Labor. In response, the AFL leadership generally ignored the League. When the WTUL decided to hold its annual conference at a different location than the AFL in 1905, Samuel Gompers was furious and refused to attend. Still, the League did push the AFL towards a pro-suffrage position and did manage to organize more women into the Federation than at any previous time.
It also drew on the earlier work of activists in the settlement house movement, such as Jane Addams and Florence Kelley, and budding unions in industries with a large number of women workers, such as garments and textiles. The WTUL leadership comprised both upper-class philanthropists and working-class women with experience organizing unions, including a significant portion of the most important female labor leaders of the day, including Mary Kenney O'Sullivan and Rose Schneiderman.
But the heyday of the League came between 1907 and 1922 under the presidency of Margaret Dreier Robins. During that period, the WTUL led the drive to organize women workers into unions, secured protective legislation, and educated the public on the problems and needs of working women.
Support for union organizing
After supporting a number of strikes in the first few years of its existence, the WTUL played a critical role in supporting the Uprising of the 20,000, the New York City and Philadelphia shirtwaist workers' strike, by providing a headquarters for the strike, raising money for relief funds, soup kitchens and bail for picketers, providing witnesses and legal defense for arrested picketers, joining the strikers on the picket line, and organizing mass meetings and marches to publicize the shirtwaist workers' demands and the sweatshop conditions they were fighting. Some observers made light of the upper-class women members of the WTUL who picketed alongside garment workers, calling them the "mink brigade". These distinctions split strikers from their upper-class benefactors as well: a contingent of strikers challenged Alva Belmont concerning her reasons for supporting the strike.
The strike was, however, less than wholly successful: Italian workers crossed the picket lines in large numbers and the strikers lacked the resources to hold out longer than the employers. In addition, although activists within the WTUL, including William E. Walling and Lillian D. Wald, were also among the founders of the NAACP that year and fought the employers' plan to use African-American strikebreakers to defeat the strike, others in the black community actively encouraged black workers to cross the picket lines. Even so, the strike produced some limited gains for workers, while giving both the WTUL and women garment workers a practical education in organizing.
The WTUL played a similar role in the strike of mostly male cloakmakers in New York City and men clothing workers in Chicago in 1910, in the 1911 garment workers strike in Cleveland and in many other actions in Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri and Wisconsin. By 1912, however, the WTUL began to distance itself from the labor movement, supporting strike action selectively when it approved of the leadership's strategy and criticizing the...(and so on)

Development and construction
The original development team consisted of property owner USAA Real Estate Company, a subsidiary of the major insurance company, and Gaylord Entertainment, which owned the now closed Opryland USA theme park in Nashville, Tennessee. The original concept for Fiesta Texas was defined as "a destination market, musical show park" similar to that of Opryland USA. The primary focus on southwest music and culture rather than rides would be the unique element that would set the park apart from its competition.
When the initial ownership group began investigating a possible major theme park development in San Antonio, Texas, they faced significant competition in the Texas market. There were similar established Six Flags parks in Arlington and Houston as well as the nearby SeaWorld of Texas, which opened in 1988. Based on the competition, the development team believed the opportunity in San Antonio (an established regional leisure destination) was there and that the stable, slow growth direction of the theme park industry in the U.S. was in their favor.
Actual construction of the theme park took approximately 23 months, running from early 1990 to the park's opening in March 1992. Construction of the theme park was overseen by a joint venture of two general contractors, Lyda Inc. of San Antonio and Manhattan Construction Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Gaylord Entertainment managed and was a minority owner of the Fiesta Texas theme park. USAA Real Estate Company was the majority owner. Although attendance at the park met initial projections, Fiesta Texas was a money loser. After losing $16 million on the theme park in 1995, Gaylord sold its 14-percent stake back to USAA.
Change in ownership
In 1996, Time Warner took over management and operations of Fiesta Texas. USAA was the sole owner. Premier Parks, now known as Six Flags, purchased Fiesta Texas from USAA in 1998. Recent enhancements to Fiesta Texas include an expanded waterpark and boardwalk. On most nights the park closes with an animated laser show projected on the limestone quarry walls and fireworks.
For the 2008 season, the park received a new roller coaster, Goliath. This roller coaster is a Bolliger and Mabillard designed inverted coaster which was at Six Flags New Orleans known as "Batman: The Ride". Goliath will be the park's 8th coaster that is at the park, the 9th to actually operate at the park, and the 10th to have been announced by the park.

History
Originally a family business, established in 1833 on the banks of the Aker river in Oslo, Lilleborg expanded in 1842 to manufacturing hygiene products with the opening of "s?besyderiet", the "soap boilery". Here the company's manufacture of soft soap and bathroom soaps took place. In 1897, it became an aksjeselskap, and changed its name to A/S Lilleborg Fabrikker. In the final years of the 19th century, the company was offering a broad range of oils, bathroom, household and soft soaps. It was also the largest company of its sort in Norway, with more than 100 employees on roll.
At the end of the 1920s, Lilleborg had developed a close relationship with Denofa, a cooking oil producing company based in Fredrikstad. This culminated in 1930 with an agreement of cooperation between Lilleborg, Denofa, and the British company Lever Brothers (later Unilever), which had large ownership interests in the companies. As part of this agreement, Lilleborg acquired ownership and production of several well-known Lever Brothers brands, Sunlight being perhaps the foremost. Focusing strongly on brands throughout the 1930s, the company launched several of their strongest-selling brands of today in the years before the war, including Lano, Solidox, Blenda and Lux.
Unilever decided to sell their stocks in the company in 1958, but agreed upon another cooperation agreement which was to last for 20 years. This agreement was subsequently reformed on two occasions, and is still in effect - and will be until 2014. The following year, Denofa and Lilleborged merged to form A/S Denofa og Lilleborg Fabriker, which soon became a major player in the Norwegian hygiene market. The company then, in 1973, acquired Goma fabrikker, which in turned owned (amongst others) A/S Ello in Kristiansund.
In 1996, Lilleborg and Denofa split once more into two separate entities, in which Denofa continued the cooking oil activities, while Lilleborg was evolved into a pure brand-name manufacturer. In relation with this split, Lilleborg was reorganized as a company under Orkla Brands, a division of the Orkla Group, whilst Denofa was placed under Orkla Chemistry. In 1997, the activity by the Aker river ceased, while a new laundry detergent factory was opened in Ski.
